Terms and Conditions

RentSmart is a rental facility operated by RentSmart Pty Ltd ABN 62 233 046 288 and is available to approved customers on selected products with a total retail value over $330 inc GST.
Approval is subject to credit criteria qualification.
RentSmart is under no obligation to sell the equipment.
Always consult your accountant or tax advisor for advice on how renting can work for you.
Software can only be rented as maximum 25% of the hardware bundle.

The following features are only available to RentSmart contracts taken out from 11 January 2010:

Online Data Transfer, Online Data Backup and Remote Access

The following summarises the terms and conditions of the online data transfer, back-up and remote access service:

You qualify to receive these services as part of your contract, regardless of what you have rented.
The services will be available for free for the life of your contract.
Should you wish to continue with the services post the expiration of your contract then you will be required to pay Spare Backup directly.
Should you wish to expand the amount of data you back-up from 5GB you will be required to pay Spare Backup directly.
The terms and conditions of the usage of the provision of the free services will be Spare Backup's standard terms and conditions.

The following summarises the terms and conditions of the loaner laptop service:

be currently renting a Laptop Computer or Desktop Computer within the initial term of your Associated Rental Agreement but not be within the last 3 months of your initial term.
be fully paid up on your Associated Rental Agreement and all Related Agreements.
provide at RentSmart’s request such relevant insurance/warranty reference details such as insurer/underwriter, policy number and claim number.
meet other requirements that RentSmart may stipulate at the time of your application for a Loaner Laptop.

A deposit of $150 is required from you to be paid upon approval of your claim. The deposit will be refunded upon RentSmart receiving the Loaner Laptop in good working order.
Immediate return of the complete laptop and peripherals within 5 days from the end of the Term is expected.
A daily charge of $5 will be incurred per day after the 60 day period.
If the laptop has not been returned within 30 days of the end of the Term, charges to replace the laptop will be incurred, being the lesser of the current as new replacement value of the Loaner Laptop or $500.
RentSmart will courier the Loaner Laptop to your usual address at no cost to you, however returning the Loaner Laptop to our head office will be at your expense.

The following summarises the terms and conditions of the Upgrade Advantage service:

Minimum value of new equipment must be $1,000
Subject to credit approval (including satisfactory payment history with RentSmart).
Maximum value of upgrade advantage discount is lesser of:

Three months rental instalments; and
Remaining rental instalments under initial term at date of Upgrade Advantage application.
